The Standing Press with FSSB Straight Bar is a great exercise for strengthening the chest, shoulders and triceps. Pressing in a standing position helps develop core strength as well.


  • Set doors narrow, adjust swivel pulleys to chest height, attach straight bar ends to each swivel pulley and set resistance.
  • Stand facing away from machine, feet staggered, grasp handles and bring hands up, palms facing down and elbows out to side at a 90° angle.
  • Slowly press outward; return to start position and repeat.


  • Leaning forward as you press the straight bar.
  • Not engaging your core.
