Overview
The medicine ball sit up sculpts and strengthens the abs and obliques. Sit ups also involve the hip flexors and lower back to a lesser degree. Using the med ball will continue to challenge the abs long after basic crunches have been mastered.
Description
- Lie on your back with your legs bent and feet flat on the floor.
- Hold the medicine ball at your chest, close to the chin.
- Keeping your neck neutral, roll your upper back off the floor.
- Return slowly to the floor.
Mistakes
- Jutting the chin as you sit up
- Holding the medicine ball too low toward the stomach
- Not sitting up all the way
